The jams of Gabriella


Hello and good start to the week. Today it's raining, for a change! I am also back to work after a brief stay of 5 days off. Well, I wanted to tell and to share with My mini-vacation, like a "hit and run." In Vittorio really like to ski, not me! I also tried but I'm scared, I just can not do it. So I satisfied the Vict and we went to a place that I did not know: the slopes of Monte Cimone . This town is well known and popular with Emilia because it remains in the province of Modena. We stayed at the Hotel-Restaurant GABRIELLA which is located in the village of Canevare that is only 7 km from the ski lifts, 5 km from the village of Fanano, 6 km from Sestola .
So I ask you ... what does jam? One thing at a time and I'll explain.


I went to the mountains a little stressed, but I went home happy as never before. I found this hotel in a relaxed atmosphere because the managers are peaceful people and, perhaps not wanting to, this serenity transmit it to others.
Management is a family, there are beautiful four generations: the great-grandmother who is very nice as well ingambissima and very active. Gabriella's grandmother who is very young, is also in charge of the kitchen, the husband of Gabriella in charge of the bar and even the dining room if need be, by his daughter that, four months became the mother of a beautiful baby and good Achilles. Even Achilles, probably because it is an air calm a child who eats and sleeps and is always smiling.
I only regret not having photographed all together because I would have liked to put them on the blog.
So, this lovely family has 50 years, handed down a taste for good food. And here there is a food blogger to "marriage." A nice combination of flavors Valley Canevare: game, cheeses, herbs, berries and mushrooms, enrich and renew the traditional-style dishes such as symbol Spaghettoni porcini mushrooms and rustic, vinegar Balsamic, the braised venison.
Well ... goodness.




Then these jams? Well, they are homemade from the family. I, of course, I have brought home a little. Orange jam, cranberries, lemons, pears, and finally a mustard that I had never even heard of.

Here is this. What you see in the picture is chopped apple slices with the fluid being produced inside the jar. Not everyone believes as honey. The taste? Slightly spicy but not too much.
It goes well with the boiled meat and cheese.
I HAVE to make a change, sorry but I had forgotten that the family is also part of Daphne, the beautiful chocolate brown Labrador.
It 's almost needless to say, then, that in that hotel also accept animals. And this is important.
